I will dominate 'credible combatant' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua will face Jake Paul in an eight-bout contest which will be shown in real-time on Netflix.

British boxer Joshua said he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "defeat" his opponent as the two fighters confronted each other to publicize the upcoming heavyweight fight.

Former two-time world boxing king Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a mammoth mismatch - at Miami Kaseya Center on 19 December.

Boxer's Mindset

"I will damage his features and break his body up. I'm here to prove I'm superior," Joshua, 35 years old, declared.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I will seriously aim to cause him pain. That's my goal."

Civil Exchange

In spite of these statements, a calm Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - usually recognized for his dramatics - shared friendly words and remained civil with each other.

Paul rather targeted former Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and labeled him "not serious" after Ngannou declined a bout proposal.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, took aim at UK opponent Fury - and rejected a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a victory for Paul.

"[Paul] is superior to Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua stated.

"I respect him for that."

Serious Fighter

Despite stating he plans to punish Paul, Anthony Joshua declined to speak negatively about his opponent's fighting skills.

"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he remarked.

Jake Paul's Background

Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has mostly boxed MMA fighters or faded names since turning professional.

He was defeated by British fighter Fury in 2023.

Financial Success

However, the inexperienced fighter is still one of boxing's biggest money-making draws, consistently making huge paydays.

Forecast and Belief

The 28 year old forecast a knockout win in round four or five and claimed he would stop the much-anticipated Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently under discussion for 2026.

"It will be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul said.

Physical Difference

As the two fighters met for the traditional confrontation, with their size difference on show, it highlighted just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how astonishing it is that the match is actually going ahead.
